MSU PRSSA Mentorship Program

Interested in being mentored by a professional?
The MSU PRSSA Mentorship Program connects dues-paying members with public relations professionals, or professionals in their area of career interest, to build meaningful relationships and gain valuable industry insight.

A mentor can be a valuable resource throughout your college and early professional career. They can help you edit and strengthen your work, provide feedback on your resume and LinkedIn profile, introduce you to professionals in the PR industry, answer questions about the field, offer career advice, and much more.

How It Works
Each semester, PRSSA opens a Google Form for all dues-paying members interested in participating. The form asks about your areas of interest within PR, your career goals, preferences for a mentor, whether you prefer to meet virtually or in person, and other information that helps us understand what type of mentor would be the best fit for you.

Once applications are collected, our team identifies potential mentors and thoughtfully matches students based on their interests, goals, and preferences. From there, the relationship is yours to build!

We encourage mentees to reach out to their mentors and meet at least once a month. To help you get started, PRSSA also provides a list of conversation starters and questions that can make your meetings productive and meaningful.

Have Questions?
Whether you're looking to learn more about a specific area of PR, strengthen your professional materials, expand your network, or simply connect with someone who has experience in the industry, the MSU PRSSA Mentorship Program is here to help you take the next step toward your career.
